Motivation
I like to think of myself as a “lazy motivated individual”. What does that mean? It means I am motivated to do many things, and by "do many things" I mean I am motivated to start many things and never fully finish them.
For example, I have been in the process of remodeling our extra bedroom. I want to eventually paint it, but for now I’ve cleaned it out, bought a handmade desk and bookshelf, and got a sofa bed for guests. The desk we got was custom made by a friend, and I insisted on painting it myself and not letting him paint it. He brought it to our apartment about 3 weeks ago and it’s still not fully painted... We also bought the bookshelf off a carpenter, and I painted it myself as well. The book shelf took me about 3 weeks to paint after we bought it. They are perfect example of how I love to start new projects and either take forever to finish them, or simply avoid doing them for a long time.
My YouTube channel is a whole different, but similar story. I started it and uploaded like 3 videos. I didn't upload another one because it was Spring Break, and we were out of town. I have plenty of material to make a video about our vacation, and I began to make it, but recording the intro and voice overs got me feeling lazy, and I've been avoiding doing it. I have other videos I could easily upload, but I just haven't. Perfect example of how I am so motivated to start something, then I just don't want to do it anymore.
I have some decorating crafts I want to finish, but all the material is just laying out taking up space instead of me using it to finish my project. I have another desk I need to finish cleaning so I can return it to the owner. I have a book I started to write, and I haven't gotten past chapter 2. I just bought 2 new books I want to read, but I still haven't finished the book I was given for Christmas.
I want to lose weight, and I'll do so good for a few days. I'll drink my gallon of water, exercise, and watch what I eat, but then my motivation leaves, and I'm back to eating Hot Cheetos at 10pm.
I wouldn't be surprise if in a few days I just stop writing on here.
How do I keep myself motivated?
